What is Uber JourneyTV?
Uber JourneyTV is a new experience available on your Octopus tablet for Uber trips. When starting a new passenger trip with Uber, your Octopus tablet will activate a custom experience. Uber JourneyTV will activate only for your rides with Uber.
I’m a driver, how can I get Uber JourneyTV?
You can activate Uber JourneyTV by linking your Uber account with your Octopus account. You can find instructions with images by clicking the button below. After you link your Uber account, JourneyTV will start activating for Uber rides within 30 minutes.

What’s in it for me as a driver?
At Octopus, we believe that Happy Riders = Happy Drivers! Riders will now be able to tip drivers on the tablet, see live ride ETAs, and enjoy new, high-quality content curated specifically for the JourneyTV experience.
Will Uber JourneyTV affect my Octopus points and earnings?
No. You will continue to earn 1 point per estimated trip with the tablet powered on. We will be closely monitoring to ensure JourneyTV earnings are approximate with Octopus earnings.

Do I need a new tablet to run Uber JourneyTV?

No. Your existing tablet will seamlessly run both the Octopus experience and Uber JourneyTV experience. Uber JourneyTV will activate only for your rides with Uber.

What benefits do my riders get from Uber JourneyTV?

On Uber trips, your riders will experience:

  • A customized experience that starts when you begin each trip, and personally welcomes your riders with their name and destination
  • An updated user interface with new features that encourage your passengers to tip and spotlight you, the driver
  • Safety features and reminders to assist your passengers and integrate key features from the Uber Rider app
  • New, high-quality content to keep your rider entertained

On-tablet tipping automatically links with the rider’s app. The rider can choose to tip through their phone as usual, or directly on the tablet.

While there are no games in the initial version of JourneyTV, we will continue to improve the Uber JourneyTV experience. In the meantime, riders will enjoy live ride ETAs, in-app tipping, and other new features for the JourneyTV experience.

While JourneyTV does not yet offer games for corresponding points, it will feature new earning opportunities such as on-tablet tipping. We will be closely monitoring to ensure JourneyTV earnings are approximate with Octopus earnings.

Uber JourneyTV is only available in select vehicles nationwide. While we can’t guarantee you’ll experience Uber JourneyTV immediately, using the Uber rider app will increase your chances!

What if I have feedback on JourneyTV?

If you see a problem, please let our support team know immediately! If you have a suggestion, we will be sending a survey to collect your feedback on the JourneyTV experience.

If you already have an Uber in-car tablet, your Uber tablet will stop working and you will no longer earn from your Uber in-car tablet. You will continue to earn with your Octopus tablet as normal.

If you have questions about your Uber in-car tablet, we recommend contacting Uber support directly.

We do not have a similar feature for Lyft rides available at this time, and your tablet will show the Octopus experience as normal. If you also complete trips with Uber, your tablet will activate the Uber JourneyTV for those trips. Uber JourneyTV will not activate for rides with Lyft or any other rideshare company.

Uber JourneyTV is available nationwide in the vehicles of select Uber and Octopus driver partners. Availability will be expanding soon.

Uber JourneyTV beta is available for all Uber rides, except for UberX Share and Uber for teens rides.
