Why is Octopus replacing my tablet?
Our data provider, T-Mobile, is making upgrades to their network that some Octopus devices will not be compatible with. We are shipping drivers brand new tablets that will be compatible with these network upgrades and have several new features to benefit drivers!
Each new tablet features:
– An upgraded HD screen
– Stereo speakers for improved sound
– USB-C charging cable
– An updated Octopus app that reduces the chance of tablet faults
When do I need to replace my tablet by?
The Octopus team will notify you via email and SMS when your device needs to be replaced by. Since we use different tablet models, the exact timeline will vary.
I haven’t been notified about my new tablet yet. Should I be worried?
No – the Octopus team will contact you directly when a replacement tablet shipping slot is available. You are all set to continue using your current device until then!
What will happen to my old Octopus device?
After you receive your new tablet, please ship it back to our HQ using the provided box and prepaid label. Your tablet will be deactivated once you start using your new device and will cause activity issues if it is used at the same time as your new tablet.
How will Octopus deactivate my old tablet?
Your old tablet will no longer be functional after you receive your new device. It will be disconnected from our data provider’s network and will stop showing games and other content.
What will happen if I do not return my old device?
Attempting to use your old tablet confuses the automated system that awards points and can cause activity issues. To ensure you continue receiving points as normal, we ask that you return your old device ASAP.
Will I still earn points as I transition between devices?
Yes – our system will automatically detect your new tablet and award points as soon as you start driving with it. You will not receive points for driving with your old Octopus tablet once you receive your new one.
